Student Exchange Program

Japan

With the demand of overseas study increasing dramatically in the global era, this program offers students the opportunity to study one semester or one year at a partner university overseas. The credit acquired during the study period is recognized by our university.
The exchange students can study towards their majors at the sister university with the added benefit that tuition fees will be exempt for the duration of their visit.

Purpose
  • To improve language proficiency and to develop students' international insight through active academic exchange between our university and Japanese sister universities (Nagoya University, Kobe University and Aichishukutoku University)

  • Regulations for the recognition of academic credit exchange between Mokpo National University and domestic and foreign universities
  • Academic exchange agreement between Mokpo University and Japanese sisterhood universities
Number of eligible Students: oo persons
  • The number of students accepted for exchange is dependent on the number of exchange students invitations extended by the Japanese sister universities. If the number of exchange offers outnumber the candidates for exchange the best candidates will be selected.
  • Be aware that even though the students are selected and recommended by our university, their admission is subject to the student review by sister universities.
Eligible Major: No restriction to department
Period of study: October 01, 2010 to September 30, 2011

※ Exchange student application periods are different at sisterhood universities. As a result, exchange student candidates will be recommended according the order that they applied in.

The acquisition and recognition of the credits

Will be subject to the our university's regulations on the recognition of credit exchange with domestic and foreign universities.

Selection Criteria
  • For those who have an average rating equal or higher than 3.0
  • For those who do not have a disciplinary record at our university and are not disqualified from traveling to foreign countries.
  • For those who have sufficient language ability to attend their major's courses in Japanese

During the period of study, student must be enrolled at our university and pay the the charges for boarding and living expenses at the sister university, which could differ depending on the type of exchange

China

Purpose

To advance the education of excellent students by sending them out to improve their Chinese language proficiency and increase their academic knowledge at our sister universities in China (Yantai University, Zhengzhou University)

  • Notices made available by the Institute of International Exchange and Education homepage every May and eligible student shall be determined during month of June

Study and Enrollment
  • The period of study at the local university in China is of two semesters, starting from the second semester and ending after the first semester of following year.
  • During the period of study, students must be enrolled at our university and the charges of boarding and living expenses in China should be paid by student
Course completion and recognition of the credit
  • The selected exchange students should complete the courses related to their major at the local university in China
  • The recognition of the credit completed shall be determined at the appropriate faculty meeting
  • Once the transcript is issued by the Chinese university and the course credits are approved as equivalent at the faculty meeting, a maximum of 18 credits can be admitted towards MNU degree
Other administrative matters
  • During the period of study, student must enrolled to our university and the charges of boarding and lodging and cost of living in China should be paid by student
  • Other details are subject to relevant regulations and the academic exchange agreement
